Great job Ralph. When I retired from law enforcement and entered the field of private examiner I was looking for ways to increase my business. (Note: Polygraphplace has been and still is far and away the best.) I did signup with Grogan's site. It didn't take long to realize something was not right. That along with the fact that there were never any referrals caused me to remove myself from his site. Now, after reading what Ralph has written, I realize again that often first impressions are accurate.IP: Logged |

Ralph,My jaw dropped when I read that. You put a lot of work into that doc. It was an eye-opener for me, and I've heard some of the stories from the CAPE folks. I agree, well done. You may well save a lot of people from his scams. Bob, Aside from no referrals, what tipped you off? [This message has been edited by Barry C (edited 11-04-2007).] IP: Logged |

Barry: Can't say for sure - it's just one of those gut things we all have from time to time. He seemed to be all about marketing himself and what he was all about. Nothing positive about the examiners. That and the fact that he was promoting VCSA and his Polygraph in a Box. It all just did not feel right. BobIP: Logged |

It plainly evident that he's about marketing. This is a new twist on the old mechanic referral scheme. How do you find a good mechanic? Ask me - I have a list of all the best, certified, trustworthy, yada yada. You can't trust just anyone. Then round up a bunch of mechanics and call it advertising and referrals, in a captive market you might even charge a fee for inclusion on "the list." Then for every referral, you request a fee from the mechanic. This has probably been tried with Lawyers too. If not, that market may still be open... Sad to think that one person has captured so many web addresses state names. r

I didn't renew my APA membership last Spring, so I am without the article. Crap! What's worse, my surgery "didn't take", and I am swelled to the size of lemon and am in the worse pain of my life--3 weeks after the fact---for those of you that know what I'm talking about. For the second time in my life, I am beginning to hate doctors and our medical system as it stands. My doctor has lied to the wrong man. If things get worse, I will become the next George Maschke of "anti-managed care" regarding the status of our current medical "system." To my dear conservative friends, walk in someone else's shoes for once. Please forgive the waaaayyyy off topic rant.
